A MOTORCYCLE club has raised an impressive four-figure sum for a children’s hospice.

The Beicwyr Llyn Bikers Motorbike Club has announced the final amount which the club has raised for this year’s good cause, the Ty Gobaith Children’s Hospice.

The amount raised was originally £3,903.49, which the club would like to “thank each and every one of you for supporting us so wonderfully this year”.

However, after the announcement at the club’s monthly meet last week, the motorcycle group had a knock on the door from a member of the public, who donated another £96.51.

This person, who wishes to remain anonymous, rounds up the donation to Ty Gobaith to £4,000.

Eifion Roberts, who represents Beicwyr Llyn Bikers, was touched by the donor’s generosity.

“In these times of sometimes darkness, suppression and fear, this good person’s generosity gives us all a sabre of light that we can all live in hope for the future,” he said.

“It gives us the winds beneath our wings to rise again for a deserving good cause.

“Diolch yn fawr iawn i chi.

“With the latest addition for the monies raised by the club over the last nine years for good causes, we have collected a fantastic £46,783.70.

“It is a brilliant amount of money, earned by an amazing club and its amazing friends.

“I am proud to call myself one of them – the Beicwyr Llyn Bikers Motorbike Club!”

The riders took part in a ‘Teddy Bear Run’ from Pwllheli to Snowdonia Parc Inn, Waunfawr and Llanrug after setting off from Pwllheli on 22 April.

The fundraiser was sponsored by Bangor Cash Register Company Ltd and also supported on the day by Snowdonia Parc Inn, Waunfawr and the Venu in Pwllheli.
