THE men’s darts team latest Gwynedd League results were a 5-3 home defeat by the Foelas Arms, Penytrefoelas B team and a 4-4 draw at Llanrwst. Both Blaenau Amateurs FC sides were in action twice last week. The first team lost by 6-2 at Llanllyfni on Wednesday evening with Keiron Ellis their scorer and then a 4-2 defeat on a Welsh Cup tie at Ce-maes Bay on Saturday with Keiron again scoring their goals. The second team had home matches against Harlech on Wednesday which ended in a 5-1 defeat with Tomos Williams their scorer and a thumping 11-0 defeat by Bontnewydd on Saturday. This Saturday the first team are at Amlwch.Bro Ffestiniog XV first match back in the WRU Division 1 North will be home to Nant Conwy on 3 September. They had a friendly 19-12 home win over Llangefni and are to play Shotton Steel before the new season gets under way. The Bowling Club drew 6-6 at Llanrwst last week and are home to Abergele this Saturday. The club hosed the final of the Gwynedd’s Glyn Owen Consolation Trophy. Caernarfon won, beating Beaumaris. The referee was David T Evans, Gwynedd chief executive, who has been chosen to referee the English Counties final at an important competition to be held at Blackpool.
Manod
AS the group responsible for raising the money needed for timber equipment installed at the Manod playing field has now disbanded, the town council has invited them to a meeting next month where the condition of the equipment will be discussed.
Session
THE final summer session for youngsters at the library will be a Story and Movement session for children aged 18 months to 4 years, between 10.30am and 11.30am tomorrow (Friday), with a limit of 15 places.
President
COUNCILLOR Eurwyn Jones has been elected president of the local community centre committee.

Siop Siarad
THE monthly meeting of Siop Siarad for Welsh learners will take place at 11am on Saturday, 27 August at the Bridge Cafe. All learners and fluent Welsh speakers are invited.
Planning
THE council has refused two planning applications.The first is the demolition of the former Gwynedd Council Depot at Ffestiniog and the second is the construction of three affordable homes and the non-material amendment to permission regarding land by Trefnant, Cae Clyd.
