A book marking the men from the Llanidloes area who fought in World War One has been released.
The book, called Remembering the 115, commemorates the soldiers from the Llanidloes area who fought in the war, following extensive research by authors Nia Griffiths and Nick Venti.
Nia and Nick spent eight years working on the book. It was launched at the Great Oak Bookshop in Llanidloes on Saturday, 30 November.
Nia said: “After eight years of research and preparation work, we’re delighted to have produced a book which brings the stories and, in many cases, photographs of the men on the war memorial on Llanidloes Town Hall back to the attention of the community, who are very keen to learn about them.
“We’re also pleased that the launch was so popular, with people coming from quite some distance to buy a copy as well as many from the local area.”
The book is still available at the Great Oak Bookshop in Llanidloes and can be posted to anyone who can’t collect it.
It costs £15 and all proceeds will be going to local charities and good causes.
