Over 60 jobs are being created at Haven’s holiday parks in Gwynedd.

Haven Holidays announced 63 new jobs for the area, with 36 new posts at Hafan y Môr, Pwllheli and 27 at Greenacres at Black Rock Sands, Porthmadog.

Haven is creating 500 jobs across its sites in Wales, Scotland and England to support the increase in demand as more people choose to holiday in the UK.

The roles, starting next month, include cleaners, coaches, support team members and cleaning managers.

Porthmadog West councillor Selwyn Griffiths welcomed the news, saying: “I’m very glad to hear there are new jobs coming to the area. We need new jobs now more than ever and I hope they give people a future in the tourism industry which has been hit hard.”

Haven also announced it will extend its season at some parks, including Hafan y Môr, until 30 November.

Dylan Bullard, councillor for Pwllheli North, said: “Campsites staying open for longer will benefit the local economy and that’s great after the pandemic. It’s really busy here at the moment and the longer we can keep tourists here the better.”

He added that 36 new jobs for the town “is great”.
