A LAMPETER motorist has “got the hump” over new traffic-calming measures on the A482 Lampeter to Carmarthen road.

Pensioner John Evans-Pritchard, 69, claims two speed bumps at Alltwalis and one at Llanllwni are “dangerously” restrictive.

“I drive from Lampeter to Carmarthen once or twice every fortnight,” he told the Cambrian News.

“For me that is usually a shopping trip. For very many others this is a commute to work, a need to visit the hospital, or a way to access Swansea or Cardiff.

“What has greatly disturbed me, and undoubtedly many others, is the installation of dangerously restrictive speed bumps at Alltwalis and Llanllwni.

“These are 30mph zones, reasonable in residential areas. What is not reasonable is that these speed bumps are so extreme that no traffic can go over them without damaging the vehicle unless it navigates the speed bump at no more than 10mph.
