OPERATORS of a new bus service between Aberystwyth and Cardiff need to address issues to ensure that it is a success and attracts passengers, according to a bus users group.
The Welsh Government announced that there would be a new T1C direct service to Cardiff to replace the former service that had been operated by Lewis Coaches before the company went into administration in August.
The new service, which stops at a range of locations in Ceredigion including Llanfarian, Blaenplwyf, Llanrhystud, Ciliau Aeron, Felinfach and Llanybydder, has been hailed by politicians as a “vital” service.
But the Bus Users in Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire Unite Facebook Group has questioned whether the service will attract adequate passenger numbers to ensure the service is continued.
A letter from the group has been sent to the Welsh Government and Ceredigion County Council and says that, while the group welcomes the T1C service, it has concerns including the amount of storage available and the lack of a Sunday service.
The timetable is available on Ceredigion County Council’s website.
