THE BOSS at a Llyn manufacturing company has warned that Brexit could lead to his company moving jobs to Germany.

The managing director of German-based CK Tools, which employs 56 people in Pwllheli, has warned that uncertainty over the UK’s future relationship with the EU has already damaged job prospects in the region and fears the situation will only get worse if a customs trade union arrangement is not agreed upon.

CK Tools is a hand tools manufacturer that export all over the world from its warehouses based in the Llyn Peninsula.

MD Tom Meyerratken says he is deeply concerned by the impact a Hard Brexit or No Deal may have on the local economy.

He said: “Our trade within the EU depends on seamless transportation of goods in small quantities without excessive paperwork and attendant delays.

“Without a customs union or entry to the EU’s single market, CK Tools would likely see jobs and opportunities migrate from Dwyfor Meirionnydd to Germany over coming years.”
