A NEW information point in Barmouth has opened, offering locals and visitors the chance to learn more about the area.
Following the recent closure of the tourist information services at Barmouth Railway Station, previously run by Gwynedd Council, two local businesses – Lounge Holidays and Sunset Bay Lifestyle – have stepped in to offer a brand new resource for the town and local area.
The Sunset Bay Lifestyle Store, run by Anna Wyszka, offers homeware and gift products and additionally is providing a Tourist Information Point and continue the train ticketing service for Arriva Trains.
At a later date, a coffee bar will also be provided in the atrium.
Lounge Holidays, owned by Iain Paterson, was established in 2010 in Tywyn and intends to add to the visitor experience by providing a dedicated holiday lettings business on site.
In 2013, Lounge Holidays opened an office in Barmouth.
From their new location at Barmouth Station Lounge Holidays intends to offer room bookings services to local hotels and guests houses, as well as expand on its bookings and management services to holiday home owners and caravan site owners.
The tourist point will officially launch and become fully operational soon.
