A ROAD closure for Aberystwyth’s annual November fair will not affect the opening of the town’s new Tesco store, Ceredigion County Council has said.

The council has confirmed that Boulevard St Brieuc will be closed for three-day periods over three weeks while the fair is in town.

The new Tesco store is opening on Thursday, 24 November, while the fair is in place.

The road closure, which covers the stretch from just after the entrance to the Ystwyth Retail Park up to the entrance to the park-and-ride car park, will affect traffic heading out of the town centre toward Parc-y-llyn. Traffic coming into the town will still able to use the road.

The first three-day closure ran from 13 to 15 November, with similar closures set to take place from 20 November until 22 November, and from 27 November until 29 November.

The road closure will mean a change to where stalls, which are open during the fair, are located.

A council spokesperson said that it had been agreed that stalls could be located in the Vale of Rheidol railway car park.
