A family-run business in Penrhyndeudraeth that specialises in waste disposal and drainage services has opened a brand new training centre for its staff.

GEWS Ltd (Gwynedd Environmental Waste Services) has developed into one of Wales’ leading drainage and waste disposal companies since its inception over 20 years ago.
Employing 95 people, the company serves customers throughout Wales as well as Cheshire, Shropshire and Hereford.
The company is taking the step of opening a training centre on site in Penrhyndeudraeth to ensure consistent quality, professionalism and health and safety of its own staff and customers.
The new centre also offers the company best value for money and ensures that the best use is made of staff time during those unforeseen occasions, such as bad weather, that affects the fleet’s ability to leave the premises.
“We saw a need,” explains managing director, David Thomas “to train the staff in specific areas such as professional competence whilst transporting liquids safely when driving, working in confined spaces, manual handling, working at height, first aid, health and safety and so on."
