The Apprentice winner Alana Spencer has opened a new bakery in Aberystwyth as she looks to expand her cake brand – creating four jobs.

The new bakery, situated on Glan yr Afon Industrial Estate, opened its doors last week with several dignitaries and live entertainment.

Guests included current stockists and a few recognisable faces such as fellow Apprentice winner Sian Gabiddon and Great British Bake Off contestant Michelle Evans-Fecci, along with friends and family.

Speaking after the launch, Alana said: “The bakery has been something I have been dreaming of for a long time. My business now has its own home and I am so happy that I have been able to keep the business here, in my home town of Aberystwyth.

“The support we have seen from the local community has been incredible, especially at the official launch where everyone had so many kind words and well wishes.

“Having the freedom of production and dispatch will allow us to grow faster and work with even more businesses, from smaller local ones to large national ones.

“We have already been in discussion with a number of retailers who are very keen to stock our current products and hopefully some of the new ones that are in the pipeline.”

The business’s first ever shop has been opened as part of the new bakery.
