A LAMPETER woman has been recognised at the first Wales HR Awards held in Cardiff.

Rhian Haf Evans from Tai Ceredigion came first in the Housing Association HR Professional of the Year category.

Lampeter-based Rhian is the assistant director of human resources and communication for Tai Ceredigion.

Steve Jones, chief executive of Tai Ceredigion, said: “We are very proud of Rhian’s achievement on winning the HR Professional of the Year within the Housing Association Sector.

“In the last three years, Rhian has been responsible for implementing new ways of working, instilling robust HR practices and ensuring our staff’s health and wellbeing is at the forefront of the organisation.”

Hosted by the BBC’s Sian Lloyd, the awards celebrated the top teams and individuals from within the HR departments of organisations of all sizes up and down Wales.

A total of 28 HR professionals and eight HR teams were recognised at the 12-category black tie event, where Bluestone Resorts Limited was named HR Team of the Year and Menter a Busnes – which has an Aberystwyth office – won the same title in the Welsh-language category.

The Wales HR Awards were created and delivered by Acorn, Wales’ specialist recruitment and training agency and Cardiff-based commercial law firm Darwin Gray.
