A LLANFROTHEN woman is breaking boundaries and taking the Welsh language to the world via Skype.

The Criccieth-based business, Gwefus, ran by Llinos Griffin, currently has Welsh learners in eight different countries including the United States and Spain.

Llinos has taught languages in France, Argentina and Spain, and is taking advantage of digital technology to teach her native tongue to people all over the world.

Learners vary from complete beginners to fluent Welsh speakers who may not have the opportunity to practice the language where they live.

Llinos said: “I have loved languages and travelling since I was 18 and have lived in France, Ireland, Spain and Argentina.

“In 2014 I decided to bring all my work experience together to create my own business and I’m delighted to be able to offer lessons all over the world.

“In space of one day, thanks to Skype, I can teach people from Stockholm to Miami, from Madrid to Melbourne. I even taught a learner who was in Kyrgyzstan on business!”
