A MOTHER of two from Y Ffor who launched her own fake tanning product range last year has been named Virgin Media’s Pioneer of the Week.

Virgin Media Pioneers support entrepreneurial talent and aim to help small businesses grow.

Shoned Owen decided to set up her own business supplying salons and shops in the Dwyfor and Meirionnydd areas with her own professional solution and brand, Tanya Whitebits, and has seen her brand grow from strength to strength within less than a year.

Only last year she was chosen as 'Business of the Week' by award winning marketing company BrightPig'.

Shoned said she is thrilled to have been named Virgin Media’s Pioneer of the Week and says she loves running her own business.

She said: “The most rewarding part is customer feedback and reviews, I find it worthwhile when people try the product and love it.

“I find it especially rewarding when people prefer my product to leading brands with multi million pound turnovers and advertising campaigns featuring well known celebrities. I feel very proud seeing the brand being stocked on shelves in shops.”

Shoned is now sharing her new found business knowledge through the Virgin Media site.
