A LOCAL businessman is creating nine new jobs in Porthmadog after buying Yr Hen Fecws in Porthmadog.

Dion Hughes, who is also the landlord of the Goat Inn restaurant and bar in Glandwyfach, bought Yr Hen Fecws building last year after it had been closed for over a year and has revamped it into a new restaurant for the town.

Dion said: “Over the Winter, we have been planning the reopening of the restaurant at Yr Hen Fecws, which is already trading as a very busy bed and breakfast with all en-suite rooms.

“Following the closure of this very popular restaurant a couple of years ago a large hole had been left in the local community. We are now looking to make Yr Hen Fecws more popular than ever.

Head chef, Ryan French alongside sous chef Jason Roberts, both local to the area, have carefully created a really exciting menu that we can’t wait for everybody to try.”

He added that the restaurant has employed nine people.
