A “HARDWORKING, friendly” pharmacist has left his post after serving his community for 25 years.

Blaenau Ffestiniog bade farewell to Andrew Martin who worked in the pharmacy on the High Street, the former D Powys Davies Chemist.

A native of Pwllheli, Andrew graduated at Leicester and took up posts at Banbury, Birmingham and Bangor before coming to Blaenau Ffestiniog, where he received “overwhelming support and kindness over the years from his valued customers and his loyal staff”.

As for the future, he is keeping his options open but plans to spend more time with his family, as well as going back on the golf course,

His customers, friends and staff said they “wished him the very best for the future and wanted him to take a well-earned and deserved break”.

The chemist’s will now be looked after by two new pharmacists Steffan Jones and Gwenno Brunelli.
