FOOD award judges have raised a glass to a Porthmadog brewery after they picked up another set of awards.

Great Taste, a coveted food awards organisation, has announced the Great Taste stars of 2018.

Out of over 12,600 products to be judged, Purple Moose Brewery was awarded a two-star Great Taste award for its Mwsh – Kölsch Style Lager, which means judges found it to be “above and beyond delicious”, and a one-star Great Taste award for its Chocolate Moose – Chocolate & Vanilla Stout, which means judges dubbed it “a beverage that delivers fantastic flavour”.

Lawrence Washington, managing director of the brewery, said: “All of us at Purple Moose Brewery are very proud and excited to have once again been recognised for our outstanding products in the Great Taste awards.

“We put a lot of hard work into keeping standards and quality as high as possible, and this level of recognition really backs this up.

“As a previous Great Taste Golden Fork winner it is always satisfying to build on our success with further awards.

“The brewery team will be celebrating at our brewery tap, The Australia, in Porthmadog.”
