A campaign to promote the heritage and cultural wealth of the counties of west Wales has secured a grant of £135,300 from Visit Wales as part of the 2018-19 Regional Tourism Engagement Plan.

The joint campaign by Ceredigion, Gwynedd and Pembrokeshire councils, will be led by Gwynedd Council’s Tourism, Marketing and Customer Care Service on behalf of the three counties, and coincides with the promotion of the Year of the Sea scheme, with the intention of showcasing the counties as ideal destinations to visit throughout the year.

As part of the campaign, work will also take place to promote the new Ffordd Cymru scheme, a three-lane network that leads you along the coast, across a country of castles and mountainous grasslands.

Cllr Rhodri Evans, Ceredigion County Council’s Cabinet member for regeneration and the economy, said: “Ceredigion is delighted to be part of this new partnership between the three counties - three coastal counties with so much to offer visitors.

“This is an exciting project which gives us great opportunities to promote the best of Ceredigion, Gwynedd and Pembrokeshire with the aim of increasing the popularity of our destinations throughout the year.

“We look forward to developing he partnership further in the future.”
