THE FUTURE of Travis Perkins sites in Aberystwyth, Lampeter, Machynlleth and Tywyn is secure, the Cambrian News can reveal, despite the company announcing it would be closing 30 branches.

The UK’s biggest builders merchant, Travis Perkins announced last week that is closing 30 branches, putting 600 jobs at risk.

At the time the company told the Cambrian News that the branches set for closure are not being released, with “no local detail” available at the moment.

Travis Perkins has branches on the Glanyrafon Industrial Estate in Aberystwyth; Sandilands Road in Tywyn; the Treowain Industrial Estate in Machynlleth and at the Llambed Business Park in Lampeter.

Each branch employs around 20 staff, but the Cambrian News can now reveal that none of the four stores will close.

A Travis Perkins spokesperson said on Monday: “I can confirm that the stores you mention are not affected by last week’s announcement.”
