A popular Aberystwyth restaurant has suddenly closed after the landlord took back possession of the building.

The Shilam restaurant has been closed since 21 October, and legal notices have been served by landlord Dilwen Jenkins on restaurateur Mohammed Somir.

The notices say the “premises has been secured” under Ms Jenkins’s powers as landlord.

Lampeter solicitors Arnold Davies Vincent Evans, who are acting for Ms Jenkins in the matter, refused to comment on the current situation.

Mr Somir could not be contacted for comment.
