PLAS Heli in Pwllheli has been voted co-winner of the Wight Vodka World’s Favourite Yachting Bar in 2015.

During December, over 26,000 votes were placed for the top bars, which included venues in Rhode Island, Hong Kong, Bermuda and San Diego.

Plas Heli and Pier View in Cowes were announced as winners on New Year’s Eve.

Dan Hiza, co-owner of 50° North, the company behind Wight Vodka, said: “We can’t believe the number of people voting this year.

“It’s fair to say that the Pier View and Plas Heli ran away with the contest.”

Plas Heli was nominated by an enthusiastic member of Pwllheli Sailing Club who said: “There’s always a warm welcome at Plas Heli with spectacular views over Snowdonia.”

Stephen Tudor, Chairman of Plas Heli, commented: “This is an amazing and welcome surprise for us.

“To be nominated against such well established competition was achievement in itself; to be co-winners is something else.

“It’s testament to all of our staff and the Pwllheli Sailing Club members who make every visitor here feel welcome and at home.”

Everyone can enjoy the warm welcome at the Wight Vodka World’s Favourite Yachting Bar and café at Plas Heli, not just sailors.

The bar and café are open daily to anybody who wishes to see the views over Tremadog Bay.
