A LLYN restaurant is celebrating after scooping two top food awards at a prestigious ceremony.

The Coconut Kitchen in Abersoch has been awarded a one-star Great Taste Award for its newly launched Easy Thai Red and Easy Thai Yellow Curry Pastes at the Great Taste stars of 2016 awards.

Judged by over 500 of the most demanding pastes, Great Taste is widely acknowledged as the most respected food accreditation scheme for artisan and speciality food producers.

As well as a badge of honour, the unmistakable black and gold Great Taste label is a signpost to a wonderful tasting product, which has been discovered through hours and hours of blind-tasting by hundreds of judges.

Coconut Kitchen’s sales director Paul Withington said: “We are over the moon with these two awards as it now means all four of our curry pastes have achieved a Great Taste Award since we launched them in 2014.

“It’s testament to Preechaya’s palate which appears to be second to none when it comes to balancing flavours for a Thai Curry.

“When we started the sauce and paste side of the business our aim was to produce products which allow the customer to re-create our restaurant quality dishes at home and these two awards are proof we have achieved that.”
