CONCERNED town councillors are warning residents that they have as little as six months to “use or lose” their High Street.
Tywyn town councillor Quentin Deakin is encouraging people to use their local shops as several are struggling in today’s economy.
“I’ve spoken to several shop owners and there’s a real danger of some of them closing in the next six months,” Cllr Deakin told the Cambrian News.
Cllr Deakin added: “There’s a general drop in usage of High Street shops, something that will be familiar to people across the country, and this is a great concern.
“But what can I do? Well, I can tell people to please use local shops, or they simply won’t be there anymore.
“For some it’s a chance to socialise, to stop and chat, to meet other people."
