LLANBADARN councillors have called for a plan to build an inert waste recycling plant in Comins Coch to be put before a committee after lodging objections over traffic and safety concerns.
Paul James and Gareth Davies have both objected to the plans submitted by K L Hughes and Sons Ltd for the development of the inert waste recycling facility at Troedrhiwgwynau farm, which will see at least 10 journeys by large HGVs to and from the site on the Llanbadarn to Capel Dewi road every day.
Inert waste includes gravel, sand, and stone and would be brought to the site - located to the east of Comins Coch - sorted, compacted and shipped out again.
Cllr James and Cllr Davies wrote to Ceredigion Council’s Development and Control Committee to lodge objections, while Cllr James has called for the local member Cllr John Roberts to put the application before the committee.
No comment on the application has been received by the Cambrian News from Cllr Roberts.
Cllr James, in his letter to committee members, said: “Many members will know that this route is very narrow in a number of areas and has many pinch points where large vehicles very often struggle to pass each other.
