Past and present pupils, staff, parents and friends of Ysgol Llanystumdwy school are getting ready to celebrate 200 years of history with a special service at St John’s Church.

Led by Father Dylan Williams, a tea party at the school will follow the service.

The 200th anniversary celebration will take place on Monday, 25 November.

The service will take place at 3pm and the tea party will follow at approximately 4pm.

A warm welcome is extended to anybody who is or has been associated with the school during the years.

As well as looking at the past, the school is also looking to the future with the newly-formed breakfast club, after school clubs and Cylch Ti a Fi all helping to address the needs of families in the Llanystumdwy area for decades to come.

As a part of the anniversary celebrations pupils at the school, with the help of their teachers, have been looking into the history of the school and how life has.

Staff have bought out the old admission register, log books, punishment book and several old photographs to show the children, and to help them with their study of the history of the school.

And pupils and staff have a favour to ask readers.

“If anybody has any photographs or memories of life at the school over the years that they would like to share with the present day school pupils, can they kindly get in touch with the school with further details,” a spokesperson said.
