Cambrian Mountains Society
THE SOCIETY’S walk on 17 April was led by naturalist Red Liford.A total of 15 members joined him for a beautiful day in country to the east and south-east of Strata Florida. The initial stage from the abbey followed the Afon Mwro, gradually climbing the valley until the walkers were rewarded by the sight of Llyn Gynon.Visibility was excellent, especially from the vantage point at Crug Gynon south of the lake. The next stage took the group near to the source of the Afon Tywi and tiny Llyn Gorast. The 10.5-mile circuit was completed following a complex network of forest tracks back to Strata Florida where welcome cups of tea awaited.
