ONE of Ceredigion’s best beaches has been temporarily closed to the public following a landslide over the weekend.
Heavy rain brought floods to many parts of south Ceredigion and the Teifi Valley and caused a landslide on the cliffs surrounding Mwnt beach near Cardigan.
Debris has blocked the lower part of the path and the National Trust has confirmed that the pathway has now been closed while assessments are carried out.
A spokesperson for the National Trust said: “The access path to Mwnt beach is temporarily closed due to a recent landslip, caused by heavy rainfall.
“We will be monitoring the cliff face and carrying out the necessary assessments over the coming weeks.
“Please abide by signage on site for your safety and do not access the beach or the cliff top.
“In line with Welsh Government restrictions, local users will still be able to access the coast path from the car park.”
