Madam,

With reference to the continuing problem of sand on the promenade and road in Barmouth. If members of the council care to visit Barmouth they would see that sand at the north end of the promenade has been eroded and gradually, over the years, ended up at the south end. Or look at some old photographs perhaps. The sand is now so high at the south end that it continuously blows onto the promenade and road. This has been a slow process ever since the pedestrian walkway was built to change the channel in the hope that the entrance to the main channel of the harbour would deepen, but in reality it has had the opposite effect. Maybe it’s time that this channel is reinstated and the walkway demolished as the money that is being spent to constantly clear the sand cannot be any more than it would cost to finance this project.

Yours etc
