A Llandysul farmer has scooped a top award at an industry awards night.

Annie James, who farms at Bancyffordd, near Llandysul with her husband, Liam, and young family was named the Future Farmers of Wales category winner at the Lantra Cymru Awards in Llandrindod Wells.

Her citation described her as "an excellent club member, with a very good knowledge of farming". She was also recognised for her work to promote and represent farming.

Annie is a regional ambassador with the DPJ Foundation.

Kevin Thomas, director of Lantra Cymru Wales, said: “The Lantra Cymru Awards highlight the outstanding contributions and achievements of all our winners and runner-ups who work within Wales’s environmental and land-based industries as well as the many rewarding careers available in the industry.

"I know our judges were very impressed again with the quality of nominations and I would like to congratulate all winners and finalists.”
