A SPECIAL cup competition has been held in memory of a former Llanystumdwy football player.

The annual Barry Beans Memorial Cup has held at Llanystumdwy FC top field in memory of the late Barry ’Beans’ Owen of Criccieth.

Barry played in central midfield for Llanystumdwy for a good 10 years and this memorial competition raises money for his beloved Llanystumdwy FC.

There were about 20 teams entered for last Saturday’s event and after the final there was entertianment at the Bryn Hir at Criccieth with DJ Keith, pictured here are the winning team HPP (Hogiau Parti Port) who just about won 1-0 in extra time in the final. Pictured with the winning team is Pamela Owen wife of the late Barry along with his daughters Rebecca Owen and Kara Owen
