A TALENTED 14-year-old Penglais School pupil has seen his artwork on public display after winning a national competition.

Charlie Driver produced artwork depicting the remarkable events of Operation Dynamo in May 1940 as part of a competition organised by Into Film, a UK-wide education organisation, which is supported by the British Film Institute through National Lottery funding.

Charlie’s outstanding winning entry earned him a trip to the iconic medieval Dover Castle on Monday, 14 August, to see his work displayed at the entrance to the secret wartime tunnels — the spot where the rescue plan was masterminded.

Into Film’s Dunkirk Dynamo Challenge also celebrated the release of the Christopher Nolan film Dunkirk.

The competition was organised by the charity in partnership with Warner Brothers and ‘Super’ as part of its UK-wide programme to inspire and educate young people through the medium of film.

Charlie said: “I’m really pleased to have won the competition and so excited to see my picture hanging in Dover Castle.

“I’d like to thank my form teacher at Penglais school for helping me enter the competition and for giving me time in form to work on the 3D image, which I put a lot of work into to make it accurate.”
