IT was all smiles and laughs at the Nanhoron Bar on Saturday night as Geraint ‘Chief’ Jones was ready for his long hair to be cut and shaved off to raise money for three worthy causes; Macmillan Cancer Care, Ysgol Nefyn and Ysgol Meithrin Nefyn.

The compere for the evening was musician and entertainer Dewi Pws and, after the hair-cutting session, he did a stint of stand-up story-telling and a joke session.

Dewi has recently moved into the area and said he is enjoying being a part of the local community and finding it very easy to settle down in the area and glad of the warm welcome he and his wife have received from the community.

The initial haircut was carried out by experienced hair dresser Buddug Jones, with the final shave completed by another experienced stylist, Alaw Brady.

The fun evening was jointly organised by Buddug Jones and Ashley Hughes.

At the end of the evening, the husband and wife team of Alun and Beti Jones, who were in charge of the door and money, were pleased to be able to announce that a grand total of £670 was raised and that £250 would be presented to Macmillan Cancer Care and that the Ysgol Meithrin and Nefyn School would receive £210 each.

Buddug Jones, as one of the organisers, thanked everybody who helped the evening be such a great success, from the people who donated items for the raffles or the people who turned out to show their support.
