Madam,
Having had over 60 years’ experience of different levels of local authorities, health authority and environment agencies, I do hope that my few comments might be of some interest to those ratepayers who take an interest in the Tywyn council’s monthly topics, affairs and decisions.
It is evident to all readers of the Cambrian News that, over the last five years in particular, the various chairmen have not had the easiest of meetings in keeping some of the members on the right track.
My full compliments to all former chairmen. My thanks also to the Cambrian News reporter for keeping the public aware of how the council members adhere to the rules and regulations of local government.
I have never before experienced such childish and uncalled-for animosity between individual members as exists at present.
May I humbly suggest that every member has the mandate to serve the ratepayer, the town and its inhabitants in general, in an honest way.
The community elections are due in May and I can only trust and hope that the electors will seriously consider those who will and have strived for the authority in an honest and open way over the last few years.
Please note that, as long as the Tywyn council saga continues, Tywyn ratepayers in the town in general will be the losers.
Yours etc,
Morgan Vaughan MBE, Fferm Pall Mall, Tywyn.
