THE congregation at a church near Aberystwyth has raised £375 at a fund-raising concert.

The evening at All Saints Church at Llangorwen, which is celebrating the 175th anniversary of its consecration, was a great success with 100 people enjoying a very bright and joyful selection of modern and traditional songs, a selection of folk songs written and performed on the guitar by Carmel a member of the choir and a very cleverly presented history of the church from Rev Peter Jones.

The presentation, which took place on Monday, 28 November, at a regular rehearsal meeting of the choir at St Paul’s Church, Queens Road, was of the donations made on the evening by the audience and amounted to £375.

On the night the choir consisted of over 40 members led by Tiffany Evans, a very talented young leader, who has a knack of getting the best out of an amateur but very enthusiastic group of people, the lives of whom have been affected by cancer, either because they have had the disease or have relatives who have been affected.
