RESIDENTS are being invited to help with a clean-up at a popular Aberystwyth beach, a month after the last operation collected 146kg of waste.
In conjunction with the Marine Conservation Society’s Beachwatch survey cleans, Aberystwyth Beach Buddies are inviting people to join them at Tan y Bwlch beach, which is a nature reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, 21 May.
Last month, more than 22 volunteers of all ages joined in the clean, which led to the collection of 146kg of mostly plastic waste from the beach, including plastic fishing nets, plastic bottles, plastic coffee lids, and plastic printer ink cartridges.
Children aged five and over and friendly dogs are welcome, and bags, gloves, hand sanitiser, and first aid will all be provided.
