Madam,

I was sorry to hear about the lack of support received by Lesley Pitchford and family (‘A lot more support needed for dementia sufferers and families’) in respect of dementia care in Ceredigion.

Lesley and your other readers may be interested to know of the Friday morning events held at RAY Ceredigion, Aberaeron.

The Forget Me Knot Club holds a weekly coffee morning every Friday, 10.30am to 12.30pm, for those suffering dementia, along with family members and or carers.

The aim is to provide a group-led social environment where experiences can be shared, activities joined in or somewhere to just relax and be together amongst other families dealing with this condition.

There is also the opportunity to stay on for lunch prepared and cooked by the young people’s cooking group.

For more information phone 01545 570686 or just come along on a Friday morning to RAY Ceredigion, Pengloyn, Tabernacle Street, Aberaeron. Telephoning first is advised, as one Friday a month we aim to have an organised trip out together.

Yours etc,

Jenny Higgins, Forget Me Knot Club co-ordinator, RAY Ceredigion.
