A MOTORCYCLE club are hoping their 10th annual fundraiser will help a 13-year-old with cerebral palsy live his life to the fullest.

Every year The Beicwyr Llyn Bikers Motorcycle Club raises money for a charitable cause such as the Wales Air Ambulance, Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team, and Blood Bikes North West Wales.

In 2018, the club raised an impressive £4,000 for the Ty Gobaith Children’s Hospice following a charity ride around the Llyn Peninsula, raising their total fundraising pot to £46,783.70.

In 2019, they hope to break the £50,000 mark by raising money for the Ysgol Hafan Lon pupil Lewis Walker so he can enjoy a specially-adapted bike which will allow him to pursue his love of cycling.

Earlier this year Sophie Underwood raised cash for the cause by running in the Henri Lloyd Abersoch 10k race.

Eifion Roberts, who represents The Beicwyr Llyn Bikers Motorcycle Club, said: “It was announced at a recent club meet that the good cause which the club wish to support during 2019 is Lewis Walker of Pwllheli.

“The club will be raising money so to provide a specially adapted bicycle for Lewis so that he can get around and enjoy his love of cycling.

“If we are very lucky? We do hope to also donate funds towards a specially adapted beach bike/buggy so his family can get Lewis down to the beach even on the water.”

In 2012, £7,200 was raised for Llywelyn ‘Sponge’ Williams, a teenager who lost his leg in a skateboarding accident who has gone on to become one of the world’s finest adaptive surf competitors.

More details will be released in due course but the 2019 charity ride is expected to take place on 7 April and Gwion Prys Motorcycles in Pant Glas has been announced as the main ride sponsor.
