A GWYNEDD cycling club has gone through a gruelling 320-mile ride in just three days to help raise around £1,000 for Porthdinllaen RNLI.
Clwb Beicio yr Eifl members took part in the fifth Secilôn challenge setting off from Morfa Nefyn and heading to Llandrindod Wells, Carmarthen, New Quay and returning back to Morfa Nefyn.
The group of 12 cyclists were joined by Porthdinllaen RNLI Coxswain Mike Davies and led by Welsh TV presenter and RNLI supporter Morgan Jones, from Trefor.
The ride was split into three sections of over 100 miles with the group leaving on Friday, 23 June and braving pouring rain over the first 110-mile stretch to Llandrindod Wells.
The second day saw the group cover more than 100 miles to Carmarthen before stopping off in New Quay in Ceredigion, with the third day travelling from New Quay back to Morfa Nefyn.
Mike said the RNLI at Porthdinllaen were thrilled by the support they had been given by the group.
He said: “We are again extremely grateful to Morgan Jones and all the cyclists from Clwb Beicio yr Eifl for all their support and of course to all those who have made generous donations. Our Just Giving webpage has already achieved hundreds of pounds and with other money due in the total is already closer to £1,000."
Morgan said it was vital for local communities to support the RNLI and said Clwb Beicio yr Eifl were pleased to be able to help the service.
is a way for us to show our respect and gratitude to this very special establishment.”
