A PORTHMADOG man has walked 95 miles across the Llyn Peninsula to raise funds in memory of his sister who recently lost her battle with cancer.
Ann Elizabeth Bischoff, who lived in Llanystumdwy, was diagnosed with stage four cancer in January 2015 and was given only three to six months live. She sadly passed away in November 2015.
Her brother, Andrew Thomas, vowed to take on a challenge in her memory and at the same time raise money for Cancer Research UK.
He said: “We all know of someone who has cancer or who has recently lost their life to the disease. I never thought it would happen to someone very close to me.
“My sister was given three to six months to live last year after being diagnosed with stage four cancer.
“You can imagine how devastating this news was to her immediate family, husband Markus, their daughters, my mum, her friends and of course myself.
“She fought a brave battle, always smiling until the end, but sadly lost her fight in November 2015.
“From that moment on I vowed to do something for Cancer Research UK and decided to walk roughly 95 miles along the North Wales Coastal Path from Caernarfon to Porthmadog.”
Andrew completed his journey over the bank holiday weekend and has so far raised over £1,000 towards the charity.
He said: “I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me and donated to the cause.”
