TWO comedians have been investigating one of Meirionnydd’s more unusual sites.

James and Jupp is a new documentary about a Welsh road trip of discovery which airs on BBC 2 at 7pm on Sunday, 22 October.

Comedian Elis James – born in west Wales, now living in England – is taking best mate Miles Jupp – born in England, now living in Wales – around his new homeland in a series of journeys by land, sea and rail.

Elis is fresh from completing his Welsh medium stand-up tour across the country and is hoping to show Miles the glories, curiosities and history that Wales has to offer.

In the second part of their mammoth north Wales adventure, the duo take a trip to the decommissioned nuclear power station in Trawsfynydd.

They then jump inside their trusty ‘James & Jupp’ motor and head to a forest rollercoaster in Betws-y-Coed, where Elis realises his “true fear of rollercoasters”.

The climax of the trip is an early-morning hike up to the summit of Snowdon.

It is an adventure that – for Miles at least – involves too much shopping and some bad fashion choices.
