Cinema

ABERAERON Memorial Hall will be hosting a cinema night on Friday, 4 October, at 7.30pm, showing the fabulous film about Elton John, Rocketman, starring Welsh actor Taron Egerton.

Quiz night

THE memorial hall’s annual quiz night will take place on Friday, 11 October, at 7.30pm.

Teams of up to six people are invited to attend so go along to this ever-challenging evening, and support the hall.

Bridge club

THE winners on 26 September were Keith Bellamy and Gill Howells.

They were the only ones on Board 19 to bid a 6 Spades slam.

They were the only ones to make 12 tricks.

Dai Hayes and Ron Jones shared second place with Dylan Raw-Rees and Mike Fellows.

Following a misunderstanding, Dylan and Mike bid 7 No Trumps on Board 26.

As one defender had both red aces, he understandably doubled for penalties but then under-led from the Ace of Hearts allowing the contract to make!

Aberaeron Bridge Club meets in the Royal British Legion Hall each Thursday at 6.40pm.

Duplicate Bridge sessions for Improvers continues on Wednesday afternoons starting at 1pm.
