PRESIDENT Eleanor Evans welcomed everyone to the October meeting.

She informed all that, because of what is happening with Brexit, Ben Lake, who was to be the speaker for the evening, would not be joining and they would be having a social evening with quizzes. Arrangements will be made for Ben to join another time.

So it was back to business, discussing matters arising from last month’s minutes including the various venue choices for the Christmas meal.

After the business was finished, tea and biscuits were served and then Eleanor read out questions that required a true or false answer.

Next were three pages with several quizzes, including Dingbats and anagrams.

It was a lively evening and good fun.

The evening’s raffle was won by Linda Hughes and the winner of the green foliage in a teacup competition was Anne Jackson.

The next meeting is on Wednesday, 6 November, at 7pm in the Royal British Legion.
