Bridge club

IN this month’s round of the Barclays Cup, winners were Virginia Wiley and Valerie Wylie, with Mike Fellows and Dylan RawRees second and Keith Bellamy and Gill Howells third. The club welcomed a new player, Garym Roberts, to the session.

Three small slams were bid and made during the evening.

Aberaeron Bridge Club meets in the Royal British Legion Hall each Thursday at 6.40pm.

The club will play in the Thursday session of the Children in Need simultaneous event on 14 November.

Duplicate bridge sessions for Improvers continues on Wednesday afternoons starting at 1pm.

SUNDAY, 17 November - Holy Trinity Church: 8.45am, Cymun Bendigaid; 11am, Holy Communion and Sunday school, followed by refreshments in the church hall; 5.30pm, Word and Worship in the church hall with guest speaker Sally Farah.

Thursday, 14 November: 9.30am, Parish Communion service in the church hall, followed by refreshments.

St David, Henfynyw: 9.45am, family service and baptism (bilingual service).

Cymdeithas/Society

MYRDDIN ap Dafydd, Archdruid for Wales, will be the speaker in Tabernacle Vestry on Tuesday, 19 November at 7.30pm.

He will be speaking on the topic ‘Ymlaen o Llanrwst/Onwards from Llanrwst’ in Welsh with simultaneous translation.

Myrddin ap Dafydd is the current Archdruid for Wales; after studying at Aberystwyth University, he established a publishing company - Gwasg Carreg Gwalch.

He is a well-known poet and has won several awards.

He presided over the 2019 Eisteddfod in Llanrwst, his home town.
