Bridge club

WINNERS of the Aberaeron heat of the Children in Need simultaneous pairs on 14 November were Keith Bellamy and Gill Howells.

They came 7th out of 1,279 pairs from 85 clubs. Dylan Raw-Rees and Mike Fellows were second (122th overall) and Dai Hayes and Jen Harris third (199th overall).

Two Aberaeron pairs bid the 7NT grand slam on Board 13, having 36 points between the North/South hands. There were also small slams on Boards 14 and 23, the latter having 8 spades headed by Ace, King and Queen.

In the Mid-Wales McKinley Cup Competition held on 10 November, the Aberaeron based team of Keith Bellamy, Dai Hayes, Mike Jones and Alan Stein were second, only a few points behind the winners. Gill Howells, Phil Roberts, Mike Fellows and Dylan Raw-Rees were fourth.

Senior Citizens

VIVIAN Evans took the Senior Citizens on a breathtaking pictorial visit of Snowdonia in all seasons in the last meeting.

The next meeting is at 1.30pm on Thursday, 28 November, in Peniel Vestry.

At the meeting, Elin Jones will talk about her work as an Assembly Member.

Thursday, 21 November: 9.30am, Parish Communion service in the church hall, followed by refreshments.

St David, Llanddewi Aberarth: 2pm, Evening Prayer (bilingual service).

St Padarn, Pennant: There will be no service.
