THE April meeting was held in the British Legion Hall where president Neris Lloyd welcomed 28 members and one guest. All the business matters and the newsletter were discussed, including more suggestions for the annual trip. This will be finalised during the next meeting.

Gillian Morgan, a local resident and a keen walker, gave details of a new walking group, Aberaeron Walk and Talk, which has been set up by the local surgery, in conjunction with a new project all over Wales started by the Welsh Assembly Let’s Walk initiative. Posters will be appearing to give contact details for information about these very short walks.

Neris introduced the speaker, a WI member with a wealth of experience in cooking. She demonstrated many dishes, easily made but with individual creative touches, all done with many humorous jokes, so there were many laugh-out-loud moments to enjoy as well as much tasting of the dishes. An individual lemon pudding was a raffle prize, won by Sally Davies. The vote of thanks was given by Judy Southgate.

The raffle was won by Enid Jenkins and the competition for an egg cup with a difference was won by Ann Jackson, with Margaret Morgan and Marion Bowen coming second. The meeting closed with the usual refreshments, provided by tea hostesses Marion Bowen, Ann Williams and Cathie Wood. The next meeting will be an afternoon at the local honey farm at 2pm on Wednesday, 3 May.
