Bridge Club

DESPITE collecting three zeros on the last round and a two-trick penalty for accidentally not following suit, winners on the 12 April were Mike Jones and John Valentine.

Dai Hayes and Dylan Raw-Rees were second and Jenny Harris and Ted Morgan third.

The Bridge Club meets in the Royal British Legion Hall each Thursday at 6.45pm – newcomers are eagerly welcomed.

A new round of afternoon tuition for beginners starts soon at 1pm in the Feathers Hotel on Wednesdays.

Cancer Research

THERE was a happy atmosphere at the Aberaeron Sports Club on Good Friday when the local fund-raising committee held a successful coffee morning. 

Committee chairman, Neris Lloyd, thanked all for their attendance and for the donations and raffle prizes received. 

A total of £1,245.72 was raised and in addition the promise of £500 under the £ for £ Scheme has been given by HSBC Aberystwyth.

Memorama

THE Memorama production for April is a selection from the television series Blackadder, in conjunction with the charity Comic Relief.

It will be performed on three nights from Thursday 26 April to Saturday 28 April at the Memorial Hall at 7.30pm, with tickets available from the Box Office.
