Women’s Institute

PRESIDENT Elaine Foote welcomed members and reported on members who were unwell.

Minutes of the last meeting were approved and signed by Elaine.

Various information was discussed.

Elaine asked if anyone was able to make a piece of lace that could be part of a gift to the Queen for her 93rd birthday.

IT courses are to be held in Dolgellau.

Members heard the choir has restarted. They have some new members and will be pleased to welcome more.

The speaker was Myra Dodds who to demonstrated flower arrangements.

She generously gave the arrangements as raffle prizes.

A charity fair will be held on the first Saturday and as it will probably be the group’s last, members were asked for donations.

Elaine asked if there were any nominations for next year`s officers.

The Christmas lunch will be on 5 December.

Elaine showed a plaque of 100 years of the WI.

The next meeting will be on 31 October.

Harvest

ON Monday, 8 October, the churches and chapels of Aberdyfi join together for the Village Harvest Supper in Neuadd Dyfi Studio at 6.30pm.

It is a ‘bring and share’ event and everyone from the village is invited to join in as they mark the end of the 2018 harvest.
