St Peter’s Church
THE churchwardens were delighted to welcome the Chamber Philharmonia Cologne to perform a concert of classical music at the church on Saturday, 19 August.
An audience of over 120 people were treated to a programme of superb works by Vivaldi, Handel, Tchaikovsky, Boccherini and Paganini, exquisitely performed by the musicians in the orchestra.
The objective of the Chamber Philharmonia Cologne is to inspire as many people as possible, of all generations, to enjoy classical music.
The orchestra gives about 300 concerts a year all over the world, featuring exceptionally talented musicians in venues ranging from cathedrals to village churches.
The obvious enthusiasm of every member of the orchestra during their concert at St Peter’s was both infectious and inspirational.
The audience expressed their enjoyment of a memorable evening of music by their rapturous applause and insisted on at least two encores.
The orchestra continued its tour of Wales with a concert at St Mary’s Parish Church in Beaumaris on Sunday, 20 August.

SCRIPTURE Union Cymru will again be on the town beach with games and activities for children and families over the bank holiday weekend.
On Sunday, 27 August, Worship on the Wharf! with Aberdyfi Christians Together moves to the earlier time of 5pm as part of the Doveyfest programme, with a short and lively family-friendly time led by the team from Scripture Union Cymru.
Ice Cream Sunday
THE English Chapel celebrates the bank holiday weekend with a family-friendly time on Sunday morning, 27 August, from 11am until noon, featuring local ice cream, kindly donated by The Sweet Shop, for those who make it through.
