Rotary Club

AT a business meeting on Monday, 18 February, Brenda Smedley became the latest member of the Rotary Club of Bala and Penllyn. Brenda is a Yorkshire girl and in 2008 after retirement, moved with her husband Pete to Glan-yr-afon where they ran a holiday let business for a time.

After her husband died, she trained as a Lay Reader, Church in Wales, and was licensed in 2014. Brenda then moved to live for a time with family in Cwm Main, Maerdy before moving into Bala last year. At the tender age of 77 she became an active and enthusiastic member of the badminton club and was also a member of the team that visited Milo in Tanzania in the summer of 2018.

Members are looking forward to sharing this new phase in Brenda’s life as she seeks to ‘make a difference’ locally and more widely through her association with Rotary International. Anyone wanting more information about Rotary please email president Adrian, [email protected]
