Cylch Meithrin

NEW outdoor play equipment and clothing have arrived at Cylch Meithrin Bala, Ty Hwyl a Sbri (pictured right), thanks to a generous grant from Magnox Socio-economic Scheme at Trawsfynydd Site.Ty Hwyl a Sbri is a voluntary organisation specialising in Welsh-medium early years provisions for preschool children in Bala and has almost 80 children using its facilities on a weekly basis. Linda Lloyd, leader of Ty Hwyl a Sbri, said: “We aim to give the children a varied environment to support children’s learning and development but with just over 60 children using our facilities every week our day-to-day outdoor wear and play equipment has seen ‘better days’.“The children love using the outdoor space which offers so many different ways for them to explore and learn. The new play equipment bought with funding from the Magnox Socio-economic Scheme engages the children in lots of exciting ways whilst the new clothing will ensure they are kept warm and dry, so come rain or shine the children get to play outdoors. We’re ever so grateful to Magnox for funding this project as we couldn’t have done it without them.”Martin Moore, Trawsfynydd closure director, added: “We are committed to being a good neighbour to Trawsfynydd’s community and are delighted to support early years education whatever the weather!”
